Bugs at night

Bugs I found on the ground while walking at night in July.

Shiokara tonbo

Nokogiri kuwagata

Kabutomushi - Rhinoceros beetle (female)

Molting cicada

Aodougane
Abura zemi

Ni-ni zemi

Shirahoshi hnamuguri - Flower Chafer

Ageha chou - Swallowtail

Biroudo kogane?

Hasami-mushi (lit. scissors bug) - Earwig
aka "dick cutter"

Kmadouma - Cave cricket

I hate this guy. People call them "lavatory cricket".

Semadara kogane - Oriental beetle

Tree climbing toad

Kabutomushi - Rhinoceros beetle (Male)
Someone stomped on him :(

Hmm, I just realized I have no knowledge about moths.

Kofuki kogane - June beetle
Cicada nymph

Gecko

Poor cicada nymph I found on the ground
So many cicada nymphs are dead on the ground this way or stomped :(

Gokiburi - Cockroach
Kometsuki mushi - Click beetle

Ni-ni zemi shells
Ni-ni zemi finished molting

Minmin zemi
There are at least five kinds of cicadas in Inokashira park and this is the most annoying one. They sing during the hottest hours of the day and they are very loud. One kind (Higurashi) starts singing in the evening when the temperature gets lower and they are very pleasing to my ears.

Smallest ni-ni zemi I've ever seen

Suji kogane
