Nachiguro-ishi

Nachi in Wakayama prefecture produces black slate rocks called Nachiguro-ishi (Nachi black stone/rock). It is processed into various types of souvenirs.

I took a picture of three legged crows... wait a minute, those behind the crows are... Didn't notice when I took this picture.

Kii Peninsula Local Treaties

Fried Sunfish
Tastes like regular fish fries, no much difference from catfish/cod fries. I say it's a bit chewier if I have to find some difference. Maybe it's cod fries all along. Can't tell. 880 yen for this is too expensive.

Whale Dish
All whale meat dish - red meat, fat, skin, intestines, and tongue in various ways of cooking. Had it for lunch in Taiji where The Cove was filmed. Thanks to those anti-whaling nations, this lunch costs over $40 even in one of the most famous whaling towns.
